A little more crochet...

I've been enjoying the Winter Olympics while doing a little crocheting...I am so into using those awesome crochet charts now!!!!! I pinned this project a few weeks ago; totally love the rainbow colors. I made one in bright blue, using size 3 thread. This is a very easy pattern to follow! I had a hard time getting a good photo...but you get the idea. I took a couple of pictures without the flash, so they look a little dark, but the pattern shows up well.

Here's the same doily done in yellow thread (size 10) with a size 7 hook...smaller for a different look.

Thanks for checking in! Have a great evening!

Valentine's Day in Review

Hello! I thought I'd share a few valentine ideas with you...seems I'm always posting later rather than early, but that's the way it goes! We did these water color resist hearts (paper is 6x12)...based on this pinterest idea.

Here is our classroom door for February: God's love fills our hearts. The children used water and glue to cover the white hearts with tissue paper squares.

One last fun activity...I found the original blackline for this on Heidi Songs blog here a couple of years ago. I always had the children use water colors to reveal the sight words, but this year they used markers....loved it! So much easier and less clean up! I am definitely going to go the marker/white crayon route again  to practice sight words!
(I put one sight word in each heart, instead of one letter, as in the original post.)

Thanks for checking in! Have a great day!

Look and see!

This week we will add the words "look" and "see" to the word wall. I made this activity...based on so many of those "butter it" ideas on Pinterest.
I added the counting component...the children have to count how many times they "buttered" each word and write the number. I used clip art from  Month by Month Clip Art published by Scholastic. I ordered it with bonus points last year and love it!

Quick Letter Sound Idea

Here is how I used these Dollar Tree cut outs....I put letter stickers on the paintbrush and ran the paint cans through my printer. The children match the beginning sounds. Quick and easy! Once they are laminated, you don't have to worry about the stickers coming off, either! Bonus!

I've had a few questions about printing on these cut outs. I did an earlier post here if you are interested!
Thanks for checking in and have a great day!
